On Information Design

    * Who are the users?

Geeks, nerds, and entrepreneurs

    * Information chunk (gestalt principle, amount information)

5 content areas, 2 instructional links

    * Relevance (graphics, content, reading level, text)

single graphic, reading level is topical to start, information gets increasingly dense and complex as you drill into the site

    * Labeling (visual with text)

Mostly text

    * Consistency (visual, text)

blue text on white background

    * Detail (too much on one page or one screen)

Too much detail on subsequent pages

    * Other comments

hard to get the point across exactly what it is and how it can benefit you..

On Interactivity

    * Orientation (Can you find the path, and know your way around?)

not really—too many buzzwords

    * Navigation (Branching)

not clearly linear. No breadcrumb navigation

    * Functionality (Does it work?)

yes, technically it’s solid

    * Information access (Multiple entry and exit? Logical path?)

no logical path—everything is helter-skelter
